Frequently Asked Questions
Are there only 7 journalists in Namibia? Or why do we keep seeing the same journalists on NBC on that Sunday programme?

No there are a lot of journalist in Namibia but only a few are willing to come on that program. If you know someone who is willing to join others on the programme, that  we may have overlooked please give us a call at -061 291 3116 and we shall do all in our powers to include him/her.

Can NBC please establish a new television channel for entertainment such as M Net or show new entertainment programmes on a regular basis. We are slowly and surely getting bored with repetitions of political programmes. We would be grateful for a positive approach to solving this issue.

Thanks for your comment. We are indeed in the process of dedicating a channel solely for entertainment programmes. Please stay tuned for updates.

Can NBC please show international music also instead of just local. There are two programmes solely dedicated to Namibian music.

Your request is a good one and we thank you for it . Please note that we are currently in negotiation with some content providers to secure broadcast and copy rights to air international music videos. Keep an eye out for future developments.

Many a time I am not satisfied by the representation at NBC’s ‘Talk of the Nation’ programme. Where and when a national issue (passed law) is being discussed and there is no representative from the government (lawmaker)! Law enforcers are not necessarily conversant with that law, but lawmakers are!”

“This is a valid point.  I can re-assure you that we always strive to make our discussion panels as representative as possible, however, our efforts do not always yield the necessary results.  We will keep improving in directions as you suggested.”

WHY does NBC not have parental guide?

We use the parental guide and sensitive viewers are also always informed at the start of any movie
