Botswana President meets President Geingob, SACU

The visiting Botswana President, Lieutenant-General Seretse Khama Ian Khama has held a meeting with the Secretariat of the Southern African Customs Union (SACU) today.
President Khama commended SACU for its sound financial management and living to the values of the region through economic transformation and infrastructure development as well ensuring free regional trade.
SACU Executive Secretary, Pauline Elago told Khama, who is also the Chairperson of SACU, that the regional body has managed to implement a number programmes, as agreed upon at the SADC Heads of State Summit, in Swaziland last year.
SACU will hold its sixth summit in Gaborone, Botswana, in June this year.
Khama was accompanied by a number of cabinet ministers.
Earlier in the day he met with President Hage Geingob at State House, where the two leaders were expected to sign a border treaty.
