Former MP Paulus Kapia and Others found guilty in Avid trial

At least three people out of seven accused of swindling almost N$30 million from the Social Security Commission have been found guilty of fraud by the High Court today.
This includes former MP Paulus Kapia, Inez Gases as well as Ralph Blaauw, whose bail has also since been extended.
According to High Court Judge Christie Liebenberg, Nico Josea, who was a kingpin in the distribution of the monies, alongside the late Lazarus Kandara, were charged with theft as well as recklessly or fraudulently conduct of business.
Josea remains in custody until the pre-trial proceedings on 16 May 2018.
