Former Swakopmund Mayor Kambueshe arrested

Swakopmund Constituency Councillor, Juuso Kambueshe, has been arrested at the tourist town on Thursday.
Kambueshe earlier confirmed to NBC News that he was indeed arrested and was released on bail.
The Councillor said he was unable to elaborate as he was consulting his legal team.
Detective Chief Inspector, Jacobus Viljoen from the Erongo Police, confirmed the arrest on Thursday.
Viljoen says the officers within the Commercial Crime Investigation sub division travelled from Windhoek to arrest Kambueshe.
He confirmed that Kambueshe was arrested on a warrant of arrest issued in Windhoek in 2016 regarding a fraud and theft case.
The Councillor appeared in the Swakopmund Magistrate's Court and was granted bail of N$50 000.
Kambueshe paid the bail and his case was postponed to 22 February in Windhoek.
In September last year, a warrant of arrest was issued in the Windhoek Magistrate's Court for Kambueshe, to appear in court on charges of fraud and theft.
Kambueshe was accused of committing the crimes, while he was still the mayor of Swakopmund, between 2013 and 2015.
The crimes were allegedly committed in the district of Windhoek.
However, the origin of the warrant of arrest was unknown as the identities of the public prosecutor, who applied for it, and the magistrate, who issued the document, were not known.
