The Minister of International Relations and Co-operation (MIRCO), during a staff meeting in Windhoek Monday, urged her staff to familiarise themselves with the country's newly reformed foreign policy.
Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah encouraged staff to closely monitor current global realities so as to represent Namibians interest properly.
Nandi-Ndaitwah, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, said being familiar with the country's interest in a more proactive manner allows the ministry to optimise bilateral relations and enhance diplomacy.
The minister highlighted some of the successes of the ministry during the previous year.
These include the signing of over 30 bilateral agreements, which in turn had positive socio-economic impact on the people.
The deputy premier urged the staff to prepare for the SADC Heads of State and Government Summit in August at which Namibia will assume chairmanship.
