!Naruseb dismisses //Garoeb SWAPO rumours

Chairperson of SWAPO's leaders assigned to Kunene South, Alfues !Naruseb has dismissed earlier reports that former UDF president Justus //Garoeb has joined SWAPO.
!Naruseb has confirmed that a meeting was held at the party headquarters on Thursday.
He, however, says that nothing about //Garoeb joining the party was discussed. However, NBC understands that it is protocol issues demanded by Garoeb before joining the ruling party that is holding up his intended membership. But, all sources close to Garoeb and those who attended the meeting refuted the claim that //Garoeb is about to join Swapo.
"I am not the party spokesperson but as a person who attended the meeting I can confirm that nothing of that nature was discussed." !Naruseb told NBC News.
The meeting allegedly discussed the role of the Damara people in the liberation struggle, was attended by party secretary-general Sophia Saningwa, member of SWAPO politburo Bernattede Jagger and !Naruseb. //Garoeb was accompanied by his wife and members of the Damara traditional leadership. Bebe /Huseb of the Damara King's Council Youth Wing said that //Garoeb was at the SWAPO headquarters in his personal capacity to meet the SWAPO president to speak about the possibility of separating the Kunene Region into east and west.
However, questions are asked why he should meet President Hage Geingob about state issues at the SWAPO headquarters, instead of at State House.
