The National Assembly Deputy Speaker, Loide Kasingo, has been elected as the third Vice-President of the Pan African Parliament, PAP.
Kasingo was elected at the PAP's Seventh Ordinary Session underway in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Namibian delegation, led by Professor Peter Katjavivi, includes Bernard Sibalatani, Arnold Tjihuiko and Evelyn Nawases-Taeyele.
Professor Katjavivi described Kasingo's election victory as significant for Namibia and Southern Africa in general.
Katjavivi, SWAPO Chief Whip, commended Namibian parliamentarians and staff as well as PAP for the campaign which led to Kasingo's election.
