NBC Director-General Albertus Aochamub has welcomed the advice of National Council Chairperson Asser Kapere for the corporation to consider charging institutions a fee for services rendered.
Aochamub says there are some state institutions that have already understood the NBC's plight and are now accounting for some expenses, especially with regard to international trips.
The Office of the President has allocated two free seats on the presidential jet for a reporter and camera operator when the President travels.
Aochamub says that translates into tremendous savings on the part of the NBC as it no longer needs to pay for air tickets.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry, Environment and Tourism, Fisheries and Marine Resources and the National Assembly have also been meeting the NBC halfway by accountmg for some expenses during the coverage of their activities abroad.
The NBC Director-General notes that it is the kind of support he is looking for, saying there will always be a need for state institutions to communicate their activities through the NBC.
