Former world boxing champion Harry Simon won the battle of the former champions when he beat South African Rueben Groenewald last night.
Simon scored a technical knock-out victory in the first round of their non-title cruiser-weight fight which was attended by hundreds of boxing fans in Windhoek.
The SKW Hall was packed to capacity as many fans of the former WBO champion were eager to see their hero making a return to the ring.
Groenewald was floored in the first minute of the first round and never had the chance to recover properly again.
He found himself on the canvass again shortly thereafter, following an unstoppable combination from Simon.
The referee stopped the fight as Groenewald's corner threw in the towel, one minute and 43 seconds into the round - giving Simon a technical knock-out victory.
Simon dedicated his victory to his sister's late son, Tosh, who died recently.
