Namibia is to host her first ever international oil and gas conference and exhibition in Windhoek later this year.
The conference, to be attended by over 400 participants, aims to bring together government and industry managers to explore the implications and challenges associated with the discovery of oil and gas in Namibia.
Executive Director of Rich Africa Consultancy, Selma Shimutwikeni, encourages Namibian businesses to attend the event to increase their network base.
The conference under theme: The Road to Discovery and Beyond, will take place on the 6th and 7th of September.
It will also be a platform to establish the foundation for developing a sustainable framework for the efficient management, development and investment in Namibia's petroleum resources.
Apart from panel discussions, debates and networking opportunities, it will include an exhibition that features 30 oil and gas companies and service providers.
Namibia has four international companies that explore oil and gas.
Studies indicate that nearly 12 billion barrels of oil and gas are found in Namibia's offshore basins of the continental shelves, Walvis basin, Orange basin and Luderitz basin.
