Local businessman, Martin Shipanga, was attacked by a robber at his house at Windhoek's Erospark this morning (thu).
 
Shipanga was about to pull his car out of the garage to leave for work, when someone pointed a nine-millimetre pistol at him.
 
He said although he was frightened, he immediately attacked the would-be-robber.
 
In the ensuing fight, Shipanga managed to disarm the attacker, who fled the scene on foot.
 
When Shipanga chase the would-be robber with his car, the latter boarded a taxi and disappeared.
 
Shipanga's neighbours, who witnessed the attack, called the City Police which reacted immediately and chased after the taxi. 
 
The suspect jumped from the taxi and tried to ran away, but he was caught.
 
Senior Superintendent Gerry Shikesho commended the public for their assistance, encouraging other members of the public to do the same.
