Two people died after a Hyundai truck and a Toyota Land Cruiser collided head on at Ondangwa yesterday.
One of the deceased was an Angolan who was travelling with her husband and her son, while the other was the driver of the truck--a Namibian from Swakpmund.
The truck was transporting building materials from Ondangwa to Oshakati. It apparently attempted to overtake another vehicle on a blind spot and collided head on with an oncoming land cruiser.
The woman's husband and son are admitted to the Ongwediva Medi-Park and are said to be in critical condition. The accident also involved a BMW in which four passengers sustained minor injuries.
