Eugenius Endjala has been re-elected as the SWAPO Party Coordinator for the Omusati region.
He obtained 51 votes, again defeating the former Regional Coordinator, Rebekka Itembu, who received 39 votes.
The party's Extra-Ordinary Regional Conference held the election yesterday (sat), following the nullification of the first results by the party's Secretariat last month.
Another contender, Eunice Nambala, gained two votes.
Former Omusati National Council MP, Leevi Katoma, was elected Information and Mobilization Secretary and Jacob Mwiiyale as the Regional Treasurer.
Mwiiyale contested the position with businessman, Tobias Amathila, who had won in the first election.
Omusati also elected SWAPO Central Committee members and delegates to the party's November Elective Congress.
SWAPO Party National Leaders Assigned to the region, who supervised the voting, included Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, Dr David Namwandi, Uahekua Herunga, Petrus Iilonga and Dr Elijah Ngurare, with Dr Abraham Iyambo as Chairman.
