Police in the Oshana region have arrested a young man, who was found in illegal possession of several  weapons and fire-arms.
 
The man, Sheendelwako Popyeningene Ingashipola, believed to be in his mid-twenties, was arrested in Ondangwa last Wednesday.
 
He was arrested at his home after police received a tip off when he was trying to hide the weapons.
The weapons include a brand new rocket launcher, an RPG-75 and an AK assault rifle. The RPG-75 is Yugoslavian made and is exclusively used in the military  against tanks and helicopters. 
 
Civilians are not allowed to posseses an RPG and police are now investigating how Ingashipola came in possession of the weapon.
 
Ingashipola appreared in the Ondangwa Magistrate's Court on Monday and his case was postponed to the 24th of October this year pending police investigations. He remains in custody after failing to pay bail of 5000 dollars.
 
Oshana Police Commander Commissioner Ndahangwapo Kashihakumwa today urged the public to always report suspicious conduct of anybody.
