2019 has been blessed - Johannes

The 2019 Namibian Sports Woman of the year Helalia Johannes has hailed this year as truly remarkable.
NBC sports desk caught up with her to revisit successes and challenges.
Johannes who already booked her place for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan has been making headlines throughout the year, collecting accolades at all international events she competed in.
She won the South African Spar Series and scooped a bronze medal in the women's marathon at the IAAF world champions in Doha, Qatar.
"In all above what i have achieve, i want to glorify the name above all, because without strength from above i couldn't make all those achievements. I glorify God and i would also like to thank my training partners who are there always from me and pushing me in my training" she added.
She also singled out her coach whom she describes as a brave and committed man, while not forgetting all Namibians who rallied behind her.
Johannes in abstencia was awarded the Sportswoman and Sports Star of the year at the recently held Namibia annual Sport Awards.
During that time she was in China at the world military games, where she clinched a gold medal in the 1500m race.
"When i heard that i'm that i'm sportswoman of the year and the Sports Star of the year i was very much happy , because i know they made the right decision for me to achieve those awards. I have worked for it and i deserve to get those awards. I'm very much happy" Johannes said.
She said she went through many temptations during her preparation, but hard work , commitment and discipline contributed to her success. Therefore her words of encouragement to fellow athletes imply that one should not give up and continue pushing until one reaches his or her goals .
With her achievement , Johannes is now recognised as a platinum athlete by the IAAF , being ranked 3rd in the world , while she also secured a Nike clothing sponsorship.
