Sunshine Academy in legal battle with Indongo

Boxer Julius “Blue Machine” Indongo’s exit from the MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing and Fitness Academy has left boxing fans with many questions.
Former WBA, IBF and IBO world Champion Julius Indongo has left one of Namibia’s leading boxing Academies the MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing and Fitness Academy, almost three months after he lost the unification bout to Terence Crawford in Nabraska, United States
This has led to a legal battle between the Academy’s chairman Nestor Tobias and the Julius Indongo.
It is alleged that Indongo has since signed with an American boxing stable, the LB Courage to Change Boxing Club (Carter Connect), something that Nestor is disputing because according to him, Indongo still has a three year valid contract with Sunshine. Documents seen by NBC were signed on the fourth of February 2015 allegedly between Indongo and Nester Sunshine Boxing and Fitness Academy.
Responding on behalf of Indongo, Katjaerua Legal Practitioners refuted the allegations saying their client had “no valid and legal exclusive promotional contract with MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing & Fitness Academy”.
The Sunshine Academy is represented by a high profile lawyer Sisa Namandje & Co and in their response, Namadje warned the boxer against engaging with any other promoter without the consent of their client, this however prompted Indongo’s lawyers to fire back, saying further legal action will be taken if they do not stop with their allegations.
Indongo will be the 5th boxer to leave the academy; this follows after the departure of ex-world champion Paulus 'The Rock' Ambunda, WBF welterweight world champion Betuel 'Tyson' Ushona, Vikapita 'Beastmaster' Meroro and Willbeforce 'Black Mamba' Shihepo.
The Academy’s match maker and trainer, Immanuel Moses has also left the academy and is still to pronounce himself on the reasons why he left.
Contacted for comments Julius Indongo said he was deep in the village thus could not comment while Nestor Tobias referred the questions to his lawyer.
