The Teachers' Union of Namibia - TUN - has threatened to take the Director of Education in the Hardap Region to court for what it terms - intimidation of the highest order. The threat came after Mzingisi Gqwede wrote a letter to school principals on Monday, requesting the names of teachers who will not be part of the looming strike.

The Education, Arts and Culture Directorate in the Hardap region will host its annual spring vacation school for Grades 10 and 12 learners at Rehoboth from the 18th to the 24th of August. Nampa reports that the school started as an annual event in 2010 under the Programmes and Quality Assurance Division of the Directorate in the region.
