An 11-month-old baby died on Thursday morning after being bitten by a snake at the Omirora village in the Epupa Constituency of the Kunene Region. Acting Crime Investigations Coordinator, Detective Chief Inspector Paavo Iyambo told Nampa Thursday afternoon the baby boy was sleeping in a hut with his mother when he was bitten by a snake between 04h00 and 05h00.

The four men who were recently imprisoned for rhino poaching in the Kunene Region, appeared in the Opuwo Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on different charges of poaching. They are 30-year-old Samuel Gideon, 34-year-old Ndume Johannes Nakakuwa, 28-year-old Uaparakana Kapuree and Maverukiruakuune Tjiyazembua, who is 22.
