10 People confirmed dead from Hepatitis E outbreak

Ten people have so far died from Hepatitis E, out of more than 1 000 cases reported.
This is according to Doctor Lilliane Kahuika, who forms part of one of the five task committees, dealing with the outbreak.
Kahuika told NBC News on Thursday that they are an additional 100 positive cases which have been confirmed so far.
The latest fatality is a 26-year-old woman from the Goreangab Dam informal area, who died five days after giving birth, on 9 March.
The deaths include six women, five who died after giving birth, as well as four men.
The outbreak is mainly active in the Havana and Goreangab Dam informal areas, where residents defecate in the open due to a lack of toilets and potable water points while those available are vandalised.
