About 400 buffaloes were discovered dead as a result of drowning in the Chobe River Wednesday afternoon.
The Ministry of Environment and Tourism said it is suspected the buffaloes were running away from a threat from the Botswana side.
While they were running in panic, in an attempt to cross the river, a stampede occured.
