Air Namibia's maiden Ondangwa-Walvis Bay flight lands at the coast

The first Air Namibia flight for the Walvis Bay-Ondangwa route landed at the Walvis Bay International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.
The ERJ 135 aircraft carried 25 passengers from Ondangwa to the harbour town in less than an hour.
Flights will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for a charge of N$2 000 return.
Marketing and Sales Manager, Wimpie Van Vuuren says although some customers are not happy with the days selected for the flights, Air Namibia based its decision on available resources.
He further said there are limitations on aircraft types that can be used on the Walvis Bay-Ondangwa route.
The new route is expected to boost the booming tourism sector at the coast, while facilitating trade between Walvis Bay and Ondangwa.
