The Namibian Police Force confirmed that Alina Kakehongo, who was murdered in Windhoek yesterday, had opened a case of assault at the Otjomuise Police Station.
Head of Media Relations, Kauna Shikwambi said Kakehongo opened a case of assault through threatening against Samuel Shali Nghihepa, her former boyfriend, on Tuesday.
Responding to NAMPA's enquiries on reports circulating on social media, Chief Inspector Shikwambi confirmed that the victim of the murder-suicide had laid the charge of assault against her killer.
The 28-year-old Nghihepa allegedly shot 24-year-old Kakehongo, at a shop in Windhoek West before turning the gun on himself, killing himself instantly.
Kakehongo allegedly ended their relationship, which Nghihepa reportedly found difficult to accept.
