Angolan President to attend 40th Cassinga anniversary in Windhoek

Cassinga Day will be commemorated on 4 May in Windhoek.
Angolan President, João Manuel Lourenço will be attending the 40th Anniversary of the Cassinga Massacre commemoration.
He will be in Namibia from 3 to 5 May.
The annual commemoration takes place in rememberance of hundreds of Namibians as well as Angolans attacked by the South African Apartheid regime 40 years ago at the Cassinga Refugee Camp.
The attack also took place at Tchetekela Camp in the Cunene Province where many Cuban nationals were also killed while trying to rescue Namibian civilians.
The Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation has called on not only the Cassinga survivors to attend the event, but also the nation at large.
