AVID trial update: Sentencing reserved for June

The mitigation of sentencing of five people accused of swindling close to 30 million dollars from the Social Security Commission has been reserved for the 11 and 12 June 2018.
This comes after Former MP Paulus Kapia, Ralph Blaauw as well as Inez Gases were found guilty of fraud by High Court Judge Christie Liebenberg last week Friday.
In addition, Nico Josea who was the kingpin in the distribution of the stolen monies will be remanded in custody on a charge of theft by conversion as well as reckless or fraudulent conduct of business.
Sharon Blaauw was also found guilty of reckless or fraudulently conduct of business and will be sentenced on the same day.
