Bank of Namibia Governor's Term Extended

The terms of office for the Governor of Bank of Namibia, Iipumbu Shiimi and that of his deputy, Ebson Uanguta has been extended for another five years.
The re-appointments are from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2021.
Shiimi and Uanguta have been at the helm of the central bank since 2010, taking over from Economic Planning Minister Tom Alweendo.
President Hage Geingob who announced the extension, lauded the achievements during their tenure, singling out the strict management of the repo-rate.
