President Hage Geingob turned 79 today.
Among the well-wishers is the former President, Hifikepunye Pohamba.
During an exclusive interview with the NBC News recently, Pohamba recalled his first meeting with Geingob and says they have since remained ''August-babies".
Born on the 3rd of August 1941, at the Sabes farm in the Otjozondupa Region, Hage Gottfried Geingob boasts a number of traits to his name and character as politician.
Away from the political and public life, he is a man, known to be family-oriented and extends this beyond his immediate household.
This has been evident in the way he celebrated his birthday over the last four years as captured through our lenses, spending time with elderly, orphans and giving donations to charities.
Dr Geingob often describes himself as "young at heart", a rather sacred utterance which he says is influenced by his love for service and sharing.
It is a trend in Namibia, where individuals and well-established corporates flood the media with birthday wishes to statesmen.
However, this year President Geingob appealed that donations be used to fight the spread of the deadly COVID-19, saying Government efforts alone cannot defeat the virus or mitigate its impact.
