The physical and psychological scars left by the merciless attack on Cassinga camp continue to haunt Namibians, Angolans and Cubans whose brave fighters were among the first to respond to the attack and lost their lives in the process.
These were the words of President Hage Geingob as the nation commemorated the 40th anniversary of the attack in Windhoek.
