Delegation departs for Germany to receive human remains of Namibians

A Namibian delegation, comprising government, traditional and church leaders left Hosea Kutako International Airport a short while ago for Berlin Germany to receive human remains of Namibians from Germany.
The delegation left on Air Namibia flight SW285 for Frankfurt to board a connecting flight to Berlin Monday morning.
The group is led by Education Minister Katrina Hanse Himarwa.
Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Education Veno Kauaria says six more Namibians will join the group from the USA while another one will also arrive from South Africa.
Kauaria emphasises that government is only footing the bill for 11 of the delegation, the rest are paying for themselves while others received sponsorships.
The group will have several meetings Monday in Berlin before Minister Hanse Himarwa will address a media briefing in the afternoon.
The commemoration service and ceremonial handover on the occasion of the repatriation of human remains from former German South West Africa will take place at the Franzosiche Friedrichstadtkirche on Wednesday in Berlin.
