A statement released by the Erongo Governor Cleophas Mutjavikua confirms four Hepatitis E cases reported in Swakopmund.
The cases were reported in the informal residential area of the Democratic Resettlement Community (DRC).
However, the Chief Medical Officer Dr Amir Shaker says there are 32 other cases whose results are still pending.
Details of the cases were sent to South Africa and the investigation would take about two weeks to be concluded.
Dr Shaker noted that measures to control the spread of the virus have started and that there are no serious cases or deaths recorded up to now.
