Government to inject N$5 million COVID-19 relief into the arts

Anna Nghipondoka, Minister of Education Arts and Culture this morning announced that her ministry has made N$5,5 million as a COVID-19 temporary relief fund for the arts and culture sector.
"We cannot allow for the arts and culture sector to suffer during this difficult times," the minister said.
She is hopeful that this relief will soothe some effects caused by the pandemic.
The relief will be distributed over three months to arts and culture practitioners across Namibia. The selection board will comprise of seven individuals selected from the industry. Chairperson of the Namibia Arts Council, Patrick Sam encouraged Namibian artists of all spheres of art to come up with innovative ways of doing things differently during the time of COVID-19.
