Greenwell Defence Force shebeen closed by police

The Namibian Police have encountered a strange situation at Greenwell Matongo informal settlement while undertaking their weekend community awareness patrol.
A sheebeen owned by the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) was operating and selling alcoholic beverages after the state of emergency regulated trading time.
According to recently revised measures, all liquor trading should stop at 18H00.
The NDF-owned shebeen is licensed to sell alcohol to the public.
Khomas Regional Commander, Commissioner Joseph Shikongo has temporarily closed the well-lit zinc structure, pending investigations.
An NDF official who spoke to Commissioner Shikongo confirmed that they own the canteen.
The NDF is reportedly renting the space for N $2 000 per month.
