Hangana launches aerial search for captain Carlo Gordon

Hangana Seafood has launched an aerial search on Friday for captain Carlo Gordon who is still missing following the sinking of its hake trawler, Resplendent, on Tuesday.
O&L Group spokesperson, Roux-ché Locke stated that the company has engaged other external service providers after the 24-hour procedural search and rescue mission ended on Tuesday at 15h00.
Hangana Seafood is a subsidiary of the O&L Group.
Locke added that the fact that the captain has not been found as of yet, led them to secure a West-Air charter and launched an aerial search that commenced earlier this morning.
The team comprises of the Hangana managing director, Herman Theron, Walvis Marine Divers, Resolve Marine Divers who are experts from South Africa, in the hope of finding the missing captain of the Resplendent.
Locke said the aerial search is subject to favourable weather conditions.
Trauma debriefing and counselling sessions with the affected crew, employees and families through the O&L Group Employee Wellness, are still ongoing and investigations to determine the cause of the accident continue.
