Hardap Councillors and administrators urged to stop infighting

Hardap Governor has urged Gibeon Village Council staff to put their differences aside and work together in the interest of their community.
Esme Isaack diverted from a prepared speech during a ceremony of various development projects on Thursday, to appeal to Councillors and administrators to stop infighting.

Isaack, therefore, encouraged the officials to refrain from running to the newspapers and social media and gossiping on Facebook.
She said people should instead approach their local or regional representatives to express their grievances.
The governor directed the council and the Namibian Police Force to work together to stamp out alcohol abuse.
She said shebeen owners were allegedly killing the youth, urging them to sell something worthwhile, instead of alcohol.
Isaack told the unemployed youth to work hard instead of fighting elders over their pension money.
A moratorium was placed on the issuing of liquor licences in Hardap region.
