High Court dismisses Presidency's application to have AR land case removed

High Court Judge Orben Sibeya has dismissed with cost an application by the Presidency, in which it objected to the hearing of a case between the Affirmative Repositioning (AR) and Government, regarding promises to service plots.
AR wants the court to compel President Hage Geingob and Government to comply with an agreement signed with the pressure group in 2015, in which Government committed to service 200 000 plots on urban land countrywide.
President Geingob objected to AR's application and wanted the matter to be removed from the court roll on technical grounds.
The court, however, dismissed the President's objection, saying the matter will be heard on merit on 16 March.
AR was represented by Lawyer Kadhila Amoomo.
