Husab staff member dies in accident

Operations at Husab Uranium came to a standstill after a haul truck mining operator was killed in an accident Monday afternoon.
According to the the company's vice president Percy McCallum, the operator died from injuries after the haul truck he was operating crashed into the mining highwall.
It is, however, not clear if the haul truck Manfred Gaoseb was operating was faulty but investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
Mines and Energy Ministry and the Namibian Police are conducting the investigations.
Husab Uranium Mine, located about 60 kilometers from Walvis Bay is one of China's biggest investments in Africa.
It is also among the top five uranium mines in the world.
