IPC supporters demand verification of Tsumeb result

Some Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) supporters caused a commotion at Tsumeb Constituency Collation Centre in the Oshikoto Region.
They believe the election results were not free and fair and are now demanding that they be allowed to verify the election book against the COVID-19 register books. They also want the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) to recount votes collected by mobile teams as they are alleging that some voters cast votes in the local authority election, despite being registered in areas not situated within town boundaries. Leading the team of disgruntled supporters is IPC Tsumeb candidate, Matti Mwati Amoolongo. Results at Tsumeb indicate that Amoolongo lost to SWAPO candidate Gotlieb Ndjendjela. SWAPO now occupies four seats in the local authority, while IPC garnered two and Popular Democratic Movement received one seat.
