Katima commissions servicing of land

The Katima Mulilo Town Council has commissioned the servicing of land towards the development of extensions 23 and 24.
The area that will yield more than 200-plots was handed over to the contractor, SISI Construction and Technical Services, which will start building roads and installing sanitation infrastructure.
Katima Mulilo Mayor, Georgina Mwiya-Simataa, says the more than N$4-million services project is expected to be completed in three-months.
Mwiya-Simataa says at least five-kilometres of gravel road will be constructed and the more than 200-plots will reduce the backlog in land allocation.
Some of the recipients already paid for the plots, while the remaining plots will be allocated to other applicants once servicing is completed.
The mayor emphasized that extension 23-and-24 will not be availed for construction of shacks or mud houses, but for permanent homes.
She pleaded with the recipients to honour their payment for the plots.
Mwiya Simataa stressed that when residents pay for services, the council will be able to deliver quality services to its residents.
