At least 25 per cent of Namibia's youth between the ages of 16 and 35 are either unemployed or in training.
This picture is portrayed in the Youth Status Report, which profiles the youth demographically to determine their location, employment and education status, among others.
A statistician consultant of the National Youth Council, Tendayi Arnold Kureya says, the report also annalysed Namibia's education system to track the level of education and movement of youth through all stages of their education until they are employed.
Namibia's current official unemployment rate stands at 28%, but Kureya noted that unemployment among the youth alone, could be as high as 39%.
The 2016 Youth Status Report also revealed that a number of youth move from rural to urban areas, mostly to the Erongo and Khomas regions.
Kureya spoke in an interview on the NBC World At Six Radio Current Affairs program this morning.
