LPM submits application to become political party

The Landless People's Movement (LPM) has applied to the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) to be registered as a political party.
The movement's leadership, spearheaded by its National Coordinator for Logistics and Events Ivan Skrywer, handed in their application Thursday morning to ECN director, Theo Mujoro, at his office.
He explained the application process and promised to revert to the group when it is completed.
According to the constitution, a new party needs to have about 3 500 registered members who are voters cardholders to register as a political party in Namibia and has pay N$25 000 as a registration fee.
