Mariental vendors ask for better facilities.

Vendors at Mariental in the Hardap region are calling on the town council to assist them with toilets and shelter to operate in a conducive environment.
One of the vendors, Magdalena Enganga says they need protection from the wind, cold winters and extremely hot summers, as well as facilities for clients when nature calls.
Despite these challenges, the mainly women vendors say business is good and they generate enough income to maintain their households and send their children to school.
Menda Oarum, who has been operating a braai stand for over 10 years, urged other unemployed women not to sit idle at home, but to start their own businesses for their family's survival.
She said despite business not being good everyday, commitment and perseverance would ultimately lead to success.
The vendors are doing business by selling clothes, food, vegetables and fruits.
