Minister Uutoni hands over 120 Oshikuku Extension 7 houses

Urban and Rural Development Minister Erastus Uutoni officially opened 120 houses, for low to middle-income earners at Oshikuku Extension 7 in Omusati Region today.
The houses were constructed at the cost of N$70 million with funds from the Development Bank of Namibia.
All the houses are already occupied while more houses will be built in phase two and three respectively.
The houses were built through a public-private partnership between Oshikuku Town Council and Easy United Holdings and Parallo Investment.
The contractors also provided water, electricity and roads in the same project.
In his keynote address, Erastus Uutoni says the provision of access to decent housing is one of the Government key development priorities as stipulated in vision 2030.
He urged the owner of houses to set up a backyard garden to plant fruits and vegetables for their own consumption and income generation.
Uutoni also advised residents to pay their municipal services for the expansion and development of the town.
