The Minister of Regional and Local authority Councils, Erastus Uutoni urged councillors to put aside their political differences and deliver services to their regions and municipalities.
Uutoni says councils should take inclusive and people-centred decision coming out of regular consultations.
He urged councillors and administrators to consult their communities in relations to the planning and implementation of development initiatives.
The minister was speaking to councillors from Omaheke and Oshana regional councils.
Those attending the four-day workshop, which started at the coastal town of Swakopmund on Monday, include town and municipal councillors.
It aims to assist the new councillors and administrators to better understand the policies, legal, institutional and administrative frameworks that govern the institutions they serve.
