The Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation says the rotation of Namibian heads of mission has started.
This clarification comes in the midst of numerous queries whether the process is on the cards.
In a statement, the ministry says, the appointment of heads of diplomatic missions is the constitutional prerogative of the President.
In April this year, President Hage Geingob in his State of the Nation Address informed the nation that, in due course, he will rotate Namibian heads of mission.
The ministry says it appreciates the interest shown saying that the process has commenced adding that the nation will be informed of its completion at the appropriate time.
This, it says, will be done in accordance with the established international diplomatic norms, which among others provide that a nominee may only be considered as ambassador/high commissioner designate, when approval is granted by the receiving state.
