Namibia fully supports the Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA), despite not signing such agreement.
President Hage Geingob says Namibia will scrutinise certain conditions of its Southern African Customs Union (SACU) commitments, before signing up to the CFTA.
So far, 44 African nations have signed up to establish the free-trade block within the next 18 months, while a few, including Lesotho, Burundi, Eritrea, Benin, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, South Africa as well as Nigeria are yet to do so.
