Namibia records 355 new COVID-19 cases

Today, Namibia recorded 355 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths.
Of the 355 cases confirmed, 222 are asymptomatic.
The Khomas Region contributed 43% to the total confirmed cases at 151.
Of these, 21 are students from different institutions, 12 learners and four teachers from various schools.
Six cases are employees of Debmarine.
The cases from other regions include 30 employees from the fishing industry, 10 employees from the mining industry, nine learners from various schools in different districts and seven students from various institutions.
There are 220 hospitalised confirmed cases of which 36 are in intensive care units.
Khomas Region represents 56% of all hospitalised confirmed cases.
The total number of active cases stands at 2 906.
The Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr Kalumbi Shangula urged the public to abide by the adjusted health measures which come into effect at midnight.
