NamPower confirms nationwide power outage experienced on Tuesday

Namibian Power utility (NamPower) has released a statement with regards to the nationwide power outage experienced on Tuesday night.
Nampower says that a technical fault which occurred on a current transformer on the Kokerboom-Aries 400 kV line, caused a loss of power supply that affected the central, coastal area, and most parts of the northern regions.
The power outage occurred around 23H00 and lasted for over an hour.
The Power supply was however restored in phases to the affected areas, with Windhoek being the first to be restored at 00h48, followed by the coastal areas and the northern regions.
NamPower has further cautioned public to treat all power lines and electrical points as live at all times when the power supply is out, as it can be restored without prior notification.
