The Namibia National Students Organisation (NANSO) in the //Kharas Region donated 115 copies of ‘The Condensed Wealth of Nations’ to schools on Tuesday.
“Nanso not only protects the rights of students, it also strives to meet Government halfway in availing resources such as books to schools,” NANSO Regional Chairperson, Kornelia Hangula said during the handing over of the books.
She urged learners, especially those who have economics as subject, to make use of the books.
‘The Condensed Wealth of Nations’, published by the Adam Smith Institute was first published in 1776, the book written by Adam Smith offers one of the world's first collected descriptions of what builds nations’ wealth and is a fundamental work in classical economics. The condensed version is more accessible and easier to read and understand.
Receiving the 20 books donated to PK de Villiers Secondary School, principal Peter Skeyer thanked NANSO for the gesture.
“I hope and believe that learners will make use of these books,” he said.
Books were also donated to Suiderlig Secondary School, JA Nel Secondary School and to the public library.
