NaTIS suspends applications for learner licences

Applications for learner licenses will be suspended at all Namibia Traffic Information System (NaTIS) Offices country wide during the during stage three of the State of Emergency period between 13 August to 28 August 2020.
This was stated in a media statement issued by the Roads Authority on Friday.
Namibia reverted back to stage three of the state of emergency on Wednesday, 12 August in effort to curb further spread of the novel
Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The statement said, learner license testing will only be offered to those with prior confirmed bookings.
Additionally, it noted that NaTIS Offices countrywide and the transport regulations permits office in Windhoek will continue to operate during the said period (13 August to 28 August 2020).
“However, in order to comply with the set preventative measures and to ensure the safety of our clients and staff members, these offices will be
operating with a reduced workforce during the said period. Only a few counters will have a licensing officer to assist clients with transactions,” said the statement.
Road Authority further urged clients to NaTIS offices for urgent services only in order to avoid long queues and congestion, adding that only 10
clients will be allowed into the cash halls at all times.
Furthermore, clients in Windhoek are requested to use the drive-through facilities at the NaTIS centre in the northern industrial area for vehicle
license renewals.
Please take note that clients have a 21 days grace period after the expiry date to renew their vehicle licences and no penalties will be charged.
Clients are also advised to avoid visiting the NaTIS offices in person but to contact the NaTIS communication office via email for general and permit
related enquiries and to make use of debit or credit card facilities when making a payment for services.
