NBC resumes broadcast of some local content

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) will resume the broadcast of some of its local content Television News and Current Affairs Programmes from 14 September.
The gradual return of the programmes includes the five minutes News Update/Highlights at 07h00, 10h00, 15h00, 16h00 and 18h00.
Indigenous TV News Bulletins will start on Thursday 17 September with news in Silozi and German at 16h30.
Other programmes include One-On-One and Prime Minister’s Question Time as well as the Public Service Corner/Know Your Government Show which broadcast weekly and every fortnight respectively.
The programmes were taken off air in September last year when the board sanctioned austerity measures as a result of reduced subsidy then.
But with the improved financial support from the shareholder this financial year, the corporation has decided to bring back the shows.
Management is also working on the return of the famous 'Open File' investigative programme.
