NC resumes business

The National Council (NC) has resumed business on Monday and will continue until 5 November before the term of the current council members ends.
Opening the session, NC Chairperson, Bernard Sibalatani highlighted the impact COVID-19 had on the operation of the council and the country as a whole.
Sibalatani commended President Hage Geingob for his determination in combating the pandemic.
He warned his fellow Members of Parliament (MP) against a possible second wave of COVID-19, which has already hit some developed countries and urged them not to relax until the pandemic is eliminated.
The house then adopted the report of the National Council Committee on SADC Parliamentary Forum on its benchmark study following its visit to the Zambian Parliament in September 2019.
Five more reports are to be discussed in the house.
